Dikkers Blackguard...finished...pretty much

I've been mutzing around with this a long time. Soldered and set it up yesterday.

It's bona fide!

USACG ash body
All Parts neck
Bill Lawrence PUPs (the new ones that are available from somebody here)
Reranch finishes...except for that all-important DEFT clear coat.
Pretty much standard in the other ways.

String tree and neck PUP cover to be added.

Here's my decal compared to "The Real Thing"

It's amazing how many letters "Fender" and "Dikkers" have in common. As my students would say, "Adobe Illustrator rawks!"

Have I told you that I like this guitar? The neck is a big-honkin' AllParts chunk of wood that feels like a Louisville Slugger. For 30 years I played pretty-much modified Vs. My first Martin D-28 and '67 Tele had, what seemed to me to be, very similar V-shaped necks. I liked it so much that is what I have looked for on EVERYTHING since. This beast is different...and GOOD. :D

What is it about Adobe Illustrator that you like?

The Tele looks good. When's it getting a neck PU?

The neck PU is there - no chrome PU cover.

Illustrator is a vector-based program instead of pixel-based like Photoshop. With something like that logo, I can scan in the original, trace around the outside, and then start "tweaking" it by playing with the outline. A stretch here, a nip there, add a corner, delete a corner, and the first thing you know, the "d" in Fender, has become the "k" in Dikkers. I've always compared the two of them this way: To use Photoshop, you need to be an artist, to use Illustrator, you need to be a technician. I sure ain't no artist.
