B.B. and Jeff Beck on the Tonight Show last night?

Heard about it this morning, wish I had known would liked to have caught it. The guy I talked to didn't even know the tune, he said something about the boss, I gotta figure "Paying the cost to be boss"? Love to hear any feedback.

I'm a JB fan too...

When I was 17 and probably a better guitar player than I am now I learned the whole blow by blow record. I took a while but I loved it. It was my first introduction to "jazz". So I guess you could say he was my jazz gateway drug to other musicians.

It was AWESOME

Beck sounded great. Great tone, great notes. He got BB to smile a few times. BB sounded great too - great tone, great notes :)

Beck and BB

I thought they were great together, looked like they
were having fun. I've heard BB sound better and
a little more in tune but he was still very good and
was his always charismatic self, even sitting on a chair. Beck was mixed a little low at points but watching and hearing him play reminds me
of just how original he really is..Dang!
I wanna catch this tour if it comes anywhere near
me. If you're a fan and have never seen him you
better catch BB soon, I passed on seeing
Chet Atkins a few years ago and truly regret it now...

Sorry I missed it.............

...............I kind of got the flame going last time on Jeff Beck's playing on the Request show and would really like to see them play together again. Perhaps I'm not up on Beck, so I'd like to give this "duo" another shot.

Sorry I missed this one. No flames today.
Take care.

BTW, my '62 Custom Tele gives the nicest guitar tones I've ever heard. I mean it.

I'm a Beck fan as well, although I think if Beck had played it a little straighter the thing would have been way more impressive. That said I don't even know if that kind of playing is even in JBs vocabulary anymore. His solo last night sounded a little too BEAT IT to be sittin in with BB.,who BTW actually sounded great through his lab series.
I love "vomit" guitar but I was hoping Beck would blow me away with some unexpected tone.Man did he have some bad tone through that JCM 2000 lookin thing. Shoulda had my Trem 50

Vomit guitar you ask?

Well if you get that whammy bar and wah workin with each other just right, maybe a little tone bender or fuzz face to boot, you get these tones that might remind one of the days spent convulsing over the toilet after a little too much weekend. A very vocal sounding thing

I taped it..........

I love Beck, he's my favorite guitar player period. But, he was playing "out there". Of course, that's the Beck we know and love. I agree he should've played a little "straighter" for the occasion and putting his own little twist on it. And of course, the mix and sound on TV for him as usual sucks. I'm goin' to see him and B.B. in Atlanta in about a month. Can't wait.

Oh by the way.....

Did anybody else see Terrible Ted Nugent on Conan following the Leno show? I thought he was pretty funny and playing well jamming with the band. He had a good tone too.
