I'm new here (a few weeks maybe) and i just started making my first TELE.

And the news of Spanky passing has made me a little sad. i didn't know the guy well at all but for what i'm read from his posts and you guys talking was that he was a really great guy.

So.....this first tele i'm making will be named "spanky" in memory of him.

Now THAT is really cool.
I didn;t know him either,I'm brand new here,but this IS a great site full of cool people,VERY cool actually,and from what I've read,Spanky was a stand-up guy,and his son posting here not only reflects on this site's impact on his life,but spanky's impact on his son's life,which,as a father myself,is A#1.
I agree with a site tribute and your guitar tribute,great people deserve recognition in a time of sorrow.
Sorry I didn't get here sooner to know him.

The guitar looks absoutely great, love that neck tint...very vintage looking.
To name it after Spanky is a great touch, not only will he live on in our memories but also in spirit with your Tele.
Well done. What pickups are you going to use?

I just ordered the tele wiring kit from StewMac. that should be here sometime next week. i'm excited about that.

ps. this is a lot of fun.....i totally see why you guys love this so much.
