What's going on today? A fellow got a Gibson, you'd like to sell your Tele to get a 5 grand Strat...Matt, you're grounded. Go to your room and don't come back until you think about it

I don't know what's going on with the Strats these days, but the local pawnshops have so many that it's disgusting!
Maybe a bunch of kids are getting rid of them to get 7 stringers or a more Goth looking guitar....

Interesting

looking guitar, I must say. Unusual body shape and paint scheme for a strat. Probably a smooth action- couldn't even see the strings on this beauty. What in the freakin' world........?! (Wonder if he'd trade me even up for my air guitar-it's a vintage ri!)

I'm tempted to sell the MIM because apparently you can get 5G for an MIM now. Then I'll get a 52ri and pocket the 3800 left. I'm counting the money in my head now...

Methink mebbe one too many zeros?

Check this one - a shortlived grey porridge boatanchor becomes 'rare and valuable' - that's a $6k US starting bid!

'I have rung all over Oz and eventually call Christies in London as well as Gibson New York and still no-one had heard of or could put aprice on the guitar... GIbson of course could remember the guitar being produced but could not give me a current day vaslue (sic) on it'

Now, that's a plan! With the 3800 left you may want to consider a Kramer copy or a pawnshop special. Just a suggestion.

BTW, this is the best quote so far of the thread, in my opinon...

It made my day!

Does anyone know what happened with the dude that sold an "air guitar" for like 10 bucks in eBay?

Gibson Invader...hoo boy...

I never did like *any* type of bolt-on neck Gibson and every Invader I've ever played felt more like a Lotus or Electra copy. Not even as good as my old Ibanez Les Paul. Really miserable guitars IMHO.
