MOP Pickguard
I have a white MOP pickguard that I am trying to darken. I've been soaking it in tea for a little while now with little to no effect. Do I need to sand the finish off before i soak it or try a different method? What methods can be used?

Soak it in the MOP bucket.
Maybe try burying it for a week.

Personally. I would just buy a pickguard made of aged MOP pickguard material.
But if someone has a good way of artificially aging pickguards, without making them shrink, I'd love to hear about it! Is there an Ole' Fuzzy MOP aging method? Otherwise, the amount of time and effort you're going to put into this, with questionable results, will make the idea of just buying a new pickguard seem pretty attractive. Pete |
