Does anyone have this Tele?

http://www.fender.com/products/searc...tno=0137702306

I can't stop looking at this thing! I just started playing guitar again after 15 years off. I wanted to start with a Tele but I ended up playing a Strat that I loved and had to buy it. I still really dig Teles and I LOVE the looks of this one! I really don't deserve another guitar... I want to become a better player first. I'm just curious if anyone is playing one of these - I'd really like to hear your thoughts... it will give me something to look forward to!

Thanks
Jay

What makes you think you don't deserve another guitar?

Say to yourself..

I unquestionably and absolutely do not need another guitar.
I absolutely do not need another guitar.
I do not need another guitar.
I do need another guitar.
I absolutely do need another guitar.
I unquestionably and absolutely do need another guitar.
There, you have justified it, go out and buy one now before we change your mind.

Forget about the idea of wanting to become a better player before getting another guitar. That's not even a good reason to get another guitar.

Being drawn to a guitar is a much better reason for buying one. Needing a different guitar to get the sound you want is a good reason too.

Sometimes a new guitar is just the impetus you need to practice a little bit harder, or learn something new, or just inspire you in general.

Or, it may have different feel which encourages you to play things you didn't before, or to get better at certain techniques that have eluded you.

Or, as stated, you may want to increase the range of tones available to you.

Or... well the list could go on and on and on.

There's so many reasons why everybody deserves new guitars!

Personally, I have never needed to take Scotland up his mind trick - in fact there are about a hundred and fifty new guitars I have my eye on at this very moment! :D

Go get it! I don't have one but got GAS when I picked it up. Great axe.. one of the best of the Classic Series IMHO, if not the best. I'm a woman and said it's okay!

I've had seven guitars, and kept five, in the past three years.

The other guitar player in my band just bought one. There were some QC issues in finding one with the bridge mounted straight. He finally found a satisfactory one, and it sounds and plays wonderful.

Thanks for all the replies and thanks to Big Mike for the link. You guys are a riot! You might agree that I don't deserve a new guitar if you heard me play LOL.

I'm really thinking of getting one of these. I need to find someone that has one in stock so I can play it.

Well, I finally got to play one!!!! Seemed like a good enough reason to ressurect the thread!

I went to GC tonight and they actually had one. I played it through a Fender HRDx which is the amp I have and it sounded great. It plays great too... the 'flat' fingerboard (12" radius I think) is nice but would take some getting used to.

I am seriously thinking about buying one now - more than ever!

If they still have the guitar next week I think I'll A/B it with a standard American Tele and see which one wins... I'm pretty sure I have a Tele in my future!

I played one the other day, through a Vox AC30CC. I was surprised at how wide ranging the pickups actually are. They went from 'ice pick in the forehead' to merely 'pencil through the eardrum' in shrillness. The neck was flat as a pancake, pretty sure it wasn't 7.25" radius.

Ok, so I was a little harsh, it was a very bright guitar, and had some definite applications. If you wanted some bright and spanky funk grooves, this guitar would do it just fine. The one I played needed new strings (something bigger than the factory ones are what I need), better setup (I think the pups were too close to the strings), maybe a fret polishing.

No darkness in this axe, these are not univox tone-sucker humbuckers in there, that's for sure.
