The neck is C-shape, mine is around 2 thicker (at the 3rd fret) than the one of my MIM Standard. But since the fingerboard is skinnier, the final effect makes the Yamaha neck less comfortable, even for my rather small hands (but this is obviously subjective, to each his own).

The fingerboard is flat, radius is 13.75", with medium jumbo frets. The 311 - now discontinued - was avaiable both with a maple (311 MS, "maple-on-maple" slab board) and with a rosewood (311 S) fingerboard.

Probably one day I'll change the pup's, that lack personality (expecially in the lower register of the neck bucker). They're decent, anyway, and correctly waxed.

Pots are 250k, good quality I would say. And the hardware is rather good: nothing 1st class, but well done.

One of the best features of the guitar is the body finish with a beautiful cream binding around an ash veneer. The body is alder, shaped on the back (your chest will thank you).

Anycase, the overall quality of the guitar is good. Fit and finish, nek fit etc. were perhaps even better that on my MIM Fender. Play one, if you can, and see if that neck works for you.

Neck

What do you mean "Around 2 thicker at the third fret"?
Thanks for the reply.

Oooops, I forgot to type "mm" (guess they correspond to 4/64", though I'm not sure)
