New to site, new Tele owner
I just got the e-mail from UPS that says I'll be getting my Telecaster today.
It's a 1997 Fiesta Red Fat Tele California Series. This will be the first Fender I've owned since I sold a 1964 Mustang back in 1982 ($120). Anyway, I'm very excited. Here's the pic from the website I bought it from:

It plays great. It is truly a unique guitar in the way it sounds. I felt like Brad Paisley, when I hit my first note. I haven't really explored the humbucker on it, but from what I understand, the pickup selector works like this:
1 - Bridge 2 - Bridge/Neck SC 3 - Bridge/Neck HB 4 - Neck SC 5 - Neck HB But the really cool thing is the color. It looks red in the picture, and it's called Fiesta RED, but man, this thing ain't red. It's orange sometimes, then salmon sometimes, then pink when you turn it again. I love it. Thanks for the welcome! Steve

Welcome to you and your nice Tele. I like those Cali things (I guess they didn't have all the electric turned on in the Mexico plant yet...) I passed on one new because I wasn't playing yet, just thinking about it. The nice thing about thinking about playing is you don't need a guitar to do it. The bummer is it sounds a lot like nothing at all.
Enjoy it.

Mmmmm.....Fiesta Red.....my favorite Fender color! It gives me a warm, positive feeling just to look at it. If I ever found a girl with Fiesta Red hair, I'd marry her in a second.
But I want it on a Strat, not a Tele. I first saw it on a Strat and it's defined Strats for me ever since. But worry not, fanuvbrak, your Tele is beautiful under any light.
