I like that rocking '62 bridge pickup, have one in my Squire affinity and it surprised me how much character it has at such an affordable price. And it can hit the amp hard, no mistake.
Nice to see the saddles, the binding is cool too, but kind of reserved about the rest though, the headstock, that ruled off corner for the jack input - why???
That 'super flashy' thing, each to their own. That said, might be a good to play... if there were some other colours to choose from... could be a cheap and cheerful one to adopt...dangerous thinking, seeing the state of my bank account.

Yeah, cheap is a subjective term. Two of these still cost less than that CIJ 62 Bigsby, and the $319 they want for this could still get me two Squier affinity series' with enough left over for a few months' worth of strings.

I agree about the headstock. I don't like that.

And I'm not crazy about what they did with the pickguard. I would have rather had them use an alder body. And I'd rather have a string through body/bridge.

But other than those minor complaints...

The bridge plates on those have holes both for top and through body string loading. The bodies are drilled through and fitted with ferrules, and the strings are installed through the body rather than through the top loader holes.

Oops. Sorry. Must be my eyes (gotta blame it on something). They looked like they were Top loaded, and I didn't even notice the ferrules in the back.

Ok, one less thing I can complain about.

I like how they made a gut cut in the back. Not that my Tele's slab cut bodies ever bothered me.

I'd bet it'll blow the doors off a MIM Standard or any Squier.
I don't care much for poplar bodies.
But Fender uses them intermitantly for the standards. And they were lablong some guitars as poplar, when they were really alder. So you don't always know what they are without checking.
I don't mind the headstock shape. But I'm not wild about the flat spot where the jack is.
It looks like it was dropped or dragged behind the van and repaired by someone who used the Troy McLure Guide to Half Assed Guitar Repairs.
In any case, the tuners, bridge and pickups are much better than you find in any Fender or Squier under $500.
And if, like me, you prefer more vintage sounding pickups,you could easilly replace the stock ones with another set of GFS pups for under $60. that are much better,IMO, than the ones that come stock on the Squiers & Standards.

The Lite Ash Telecaster is made in Korea. It makes sense that some of the parts would be Korean. Many of the aftermarket parts like those from Guitar Fetish are probably Korean. I would bet that the Lite Ash bridge is the same bridge sold by Guitar Fetish.

This is ones mans opinion for what it is worth. I dont want to come off as a bragger so lets just say I am like too many of you guys, I have way to many very nice Teles already. Comparing a relatively inexpensive guitar is a tuff sell. The adds for the XV800 clicked to me and I had to try one.
Shipping: Slow email correspondence regarding tracking numbers etc. Very well packed for shipment in a double box with plenty of bubbles, foam etc.
Tone: Very nice! all pickup selections impressed me and my blues rock taste.
Set Up: Action OK but I like em high. Relief way too much, Nut action very high, Intonation spot on.
Fit: Neck pocket is a very good fit, tuners well aligned and all hardware as it should be, Nothing skewed or misaligned.
Overall Build Quality: Very nice fret work, good crown and no burrs anywhere. Dirty finger prints on headstock? Nut has hanging burrs at every string slot and the slot for the "A" string has the start of a double cut. Open grain defects on the neck back/side radius up by the headstock. This neck visually looks like a cheap No-Name. The only flaw on the body was a slight buff thru on a corner near the neck pocket.
Shape: Well this is subjective and probably designed to ward off the Fender police but..... I simply do not like the missing radius at the join of the upper bought at the neck pocket. The headstock shape looks like a wack at Tom Anderson Guitars with a simply cheap looking decal. Looks more like a rub on.
Overall Impression: If I ever retail anything, I want the guy that writes and photographs the GFS adds to do mine too :) The man is gifted! I believe this guitar is just OK, were it not for the tone of the electronics and looks of the Wilkinson hardware it would be a $99.00 guitar.
It all comes down to "if you can only take three Teles, would one of them be this one?" My answer is nope, so this one is going back next week.

Why only the rosewood necks?
At the moment I prefer maple.

I love this tele.
I install GFS pickups on my MIM Tele (Retrotron Nashville Humbucker neck position and Lil Puncher on bridge). Pickup sounds better than a SD little 59 I have a couple of years ago. Better than stock pickup to for sure!!!
