Lamb Jam report NYC

The Lamb Jam took place last night--Three groups played at the inaugural of the Christian Coffeehouse in Queens NYC----the attendance was cool for a first time, basically "word of mouth" and some flyers approach--about 40 people in attendance----
Thanks to ol pal Vince Caster who made it down to the Big Apple for this---I was truly impressed with the Tele he brought down---great looking (Kudos Rob DiStefano-nice job man !)---that baby turned out looking, sounding and playing really nice. I dub it the "Caster Caster"---Vince had some nice clean blues tone happenin as we did People Get Ready and some other blues oriented gospel ---played through my 82 Concert---it's a good soundin amp in nice shape and those Van Zandt pickups sounded really vibrant through it !
Charlie Ware another pal used a G&L (S-500 ?) strat type with the new DR nano---something strings---Black Strings ? too cool---------
I used my trusty 52ri through my Allen Encore and Digitech GNX2 (sometime)--I was getting a pretty good sustain happening-i dig the ol Bardens through the Super Reverb type circuit of the Allen Encore.
My biggest surprise was 2 large speaker cabinets I salvaged from a buddy of mine who was gonna just "toss em" cause he didn't need em and they were old and sittin around in the basement collecting dust.

They turned out to be 4o year old Altec-Lansing cabs--with 1 fan horn in the top and a 416-C (or 417?) 15" woofer in each ! cabinets pretty beat--but when I plugged them through a 500 watt Harmon Kardon rack amp, they were absolutely magic ! Unbelievably clear and deep !--an to think these were bound for the dump !
(Perish the thought !)---great fun last night---hope to do it again last Friday of August--have a great summer everyone !---Lookin forward to Inertian's jam on Long Island --August 9th

Thanks for the invite

Yeah, this coffeehouse has the makings for a really sweet regular session.

Of course the main ingredient is a really cool host who can play the heck out of a tele. If you get a chance to swing by you should. Just to check out all of Spankys gear was worth the price of admission. Really nicely broken in 52RI with bardens, nice playing guit. That Allen amp is outrageous, tone with a capital T. That Fender Concert was a nice score too. First time I ever used a wirless system and I was cracking myself using that GNX thing. "Step away from the stompbox"

Highlights for me was some really fine lead work on "This little Light" by Jerry and I just plain out and out laid out on "People Get Ready" some really nice playing that really served the song. No need to get in the way.

Thanks again!

Jerry,

Congratulations!

I really wanted to be there, but I ended up watching my daughter while my wife took a "quick" trip to Home Depot. Next thing you know, it's 9:45!

Anyway, sounds like it was a blast. I may have to wait until the September installment (if there is one), I'm scheduled to be out of town that last week in August.

Sounds Great

Congratulations! Let me know when the next one is- I'd be interested in coming. My previous band and I wrote all original Christian materrial- I could possibly round up some members of our previous band Psalm V if you need an extra group or if you just need some help. Let me know.
