Does this tele look all original..

to you?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=7402746132

I have never seen the word "special" written in the neck pocket. The owner replied "looks original to me".

That hairline crack might affect its value, but it won't affect its sound or playability.

Real

That looks good to me. I have one identical to that (and a red one from the '73 also) everything looks good to me.
My blonde one even has the Torres stamp like that one.

Though I can't recall seeing a fifth screwhole in the neck pocket, could be my rapidly failing memory though. :(

  • It iss the reeeeeel deal cept--------
  • Whence I sold it I gave the following pick-chures. None of these hurt the playability or feel of it or seemed tew affect/effect the tone.
  • The finish on the headstock face waz crazed a liddo.
  • Pickguard? As far as I noe sum dent haff the cutout fer the truss rod adjustment and I dent use that as a cyr-tear-ree-ya whence I bought it.

  • It ain't mint but it shore was nice tew own. I wish I had it back.

  • That neck iss purdy much standard 70s feel wise.
  • It waz stable and had the look and feel of all my udder 70s TELECASTERs.
  • I am knott sure watt his reserve iss but tie suspect in the $2,300.00 range.
  • These are very hard tew find even with their unfounded bad reputation. I haff bought erry won I could find out here onna leff coast fer the past 20 years er sew.
  • Good luck and keep us posted.

The seller is being less than honest in his auction discription imo. He says it 100% stock, but fails to disclose some very big issues in those neck and body cracks. I give that seller a huge WTF in my book. For that kinda bread you could find some thing better from the same year with less issues than that.
