Who's he kidding?!

That must have been left over from a house or carfire! Maybe he was strumming away at a campsite and fell into the fire!!??
Speculation.......

If that was my shop, I certainly wouldn't be bragging about it............

funniest thing I've seen all day.

"If you want that old ,worn look but like a new guitar then this is the one for you."

One things for sure, ya gotta have a cigarette hanging out of your mouth when you play this thing.

    Classic!

You’ve got to be kidding me… I wonder who the genius behind the “shop” operation is… Fine relicers are being trained by the “master” right now…. That's scary...

I asked the seller a question about it. So weird........

Well, actually I proclaimed, "It doesn't look old. It looks burnt.
    Does it smell?"

    The seller responded...and I quote:

"That is what it is supposed to look like. We use fire to get that old look.
    No it does not smell.
    Thanks, D & R"

It's beyond me how these folks would equate "charred" with "old".....
strange days indeed. The only encouraging thing is that nobody's bid on it. Yet.

The seller just doesn't get it, obviously. Maybe somebody should show him some GVCC or even Fender relics so he gets the idea that there is a huge difference between naturally aged and completely ruined and defaced.

"Hey, Bubba! Char me up a relic will ya?!!"

I got the flamethrower warmin' up now..just like Leo would have done it!"

Way back in the '90s, when Noam ran the board, a dude posted a pic of his tele that had survived a house fire, it was kinda like this one. The difference was that it got it's scars honestly and managed to look pretty cool.

Relax guys! It's probably a Jay Turser they got for $55 to ruin on the thought that somebody buys it they'd make some money.

But even then, it's a rather humiliating way for a guitar to be treated.

Pardon me for another stupid newbie question, but what kind of normal wear would result in that look? I mean other than some dumb@$$ junkie nodding off with a cigarette and torching his house.

"And here you see the usual belt-rash as evidenced by 20 years of being played by Satan..."

I don't mean any insult to guys who work hard and very thoughtfully reproduce years of "normal wear" (although I'm not interested in that look. I work very hard to keep my instruments looking like I haven't been playing them, or at least like I'm being very careful with them) That guitar looks like Beavis & Butthead had a go at it.
