In 1972 I saw an ad in the San Francisco paper Don Weirs music was having a sale on Teles $200 + tax with HSC.
So I got on the bus went to San Francisco walked into the shop there was about 50 72 Teles all Blonde. I played a few and plopped down my $212 and went back home with a brand new Tele. That was my first Tele and a really good one would love to have it back.

that is a beauty... and a cool story Mark... I still get some of that excitement when I buy a guitar... I remember getting my 72 custom at Nadine's in 1978 and being so thrilled to find it and knowing it was the one for me! I still have it too!

Same here a 72 is way way better than any new one no contest.
In fact Id rather have a 72 than a 52 if the 52's werent worth so much. I loved the neck on the 72.
