The eBay add says that the guitar it came from was stripped...that would explain why there's a spare BF-Pickguard...

I have the ashtray cover from my original '74/'75 Tele. I will swear under oath that it's from that guitar. But there is absolutely no objective evidence I can offer. Same with the trem arm from my old '73 Strat and the skirted knobs from my '74 LP Deluxe. So I just keep them as momentos.

I saw those too....
I saw that same pcikguard floating around EBay for some time now. Heck, as an automotive painter, I could make a killing doing those up!!! It is just a clear pickguard with an airbrushed rim around it. I too have a new in the Fender package "ashtray" cover for the Tele I am building...it cost me a whole whopping $15.00 shipped to my door, and there is a guy on EBay that has a "vintage" one for like $300...If the guy knew it was basically an "ashtray" and for looks, I went ahead and bought the new one for mine!!
You all have been a great help in my firat tele project and find your information/knowledge VERY helpful indeed!!! Thanks to all DOC |
