A Different Sort Of Twang ...............
Here's a project I just completed. See Tele Tech or my photo gallery for some construction photos and text. Ash body, MIM Telecaster neck, unknown Tele neck pickup, biscuit bridge with Quarterman cone, McIntyre Feather pickup on the cone.

I think it is really cool that you and Tedecaster emerged with a reso-Tele at the same time. Now what you need, is an alternate neck that has a high nut so you can use it as a Dobro with a slide. 8) 8) 8) GBDGDB

the guitar that Tedecaster posted about is mine (You can see it in the photo gallery). I made it in a much lesser professional way : I took a cheap Squier Affinity (crafted in China Toploader), routed it out (badly; I would not show the guitar without the cover), and added the cone, a biscuit bridge, a pair of piezos on the cone. As I made this guitar some years ago, I have forgotten what parts are in it; I think the cone, the cover and the tailpiece came from SAGA.
And I'm not only a poor router user, but also a poor player (and a poor computer user), so there are no mp3 of my guitar Hans

Inspiration you ask?
A couple of years ago I was in Durango Colorado and in a great acoustic instrument store ............... on 2nd Street ...... half a block south of the art center. Saw what looked like a resonator Strat sitting on a stand. I didn't play it but did pluck a string and thought ............. Damn that's loud. A few weeks later after thinking about it I called the store and inquired about the guitar. It was a consignment item and priced at $1300. After some Internet research I found that it was made by Rono Strings in Boulder Colorado (new price $1900). Further research found the Amistar Guitars in the Czech Republic and Molonator Guitars down under both of which make Telecaster style resonators.
I bought a dimensionly incorrect Telecaster body on Ebay and didn't consider it suitable for a conventional Telecaster. It was a great looking piece of wood so I thought it would be a good candidate for this project. I guess my thinking is .......... if you're going to build a guitar why not build one that doesn't look like something you could pick up at Guitar Center. I have another project (single cut semi-hollow) under way that isn't going to look like your typical Telecaster. I still have a few bugs to work out. When I do I'll try to learn how to record MP3s ........... even though I'm probably the worst player in this forum.
