Help me identify my Tele
...or tell me where to find a resource to look it up the serial#? I'm interested in what the wood is, and what tone control I have. I bought it in spring of 1994, so it could be a '93 or '94. It's a sunburst- altho I don't know if it's a 2- or 3-color sunburst. It's heavy. maple neck. The only things I've changed are pickups & the pickgaurd (the original guard was plain white).
Thanks gang! (sorry for the pic quality... I only have my cell camera, wife & I getting a digital this month...) The burst is a little more orange than the pic shows. American Std. Serial No. N3940658 ![]() ![]()

Cool! So, is alder a lighter or heavier wood than ash/swamp ash? To ME, the guitar feels heavy, but a friend's parts caster (finished natural) is even heavier.
