Pictures of Arnocaster

Hello all
This is my Twanger Arnocaster.
It is a parts-o-caster, with Alnico Pro II pickups by seymour Duncan.

It is made of oak, and sustains forever. Very sweet sounding, but quite heavy (Like a very heavy Les Paul)

Peace, love and all that happiness stuff

twanger arnocaster

cool logo!
did you create the finish cracks or did they happen naturally?

The cracks on the finish appeared all by themselves.
The guitar is about five years old, and I guess the temperature changes affecting the wood cracked the finish.
I don't complain, it looks great...

Looks nice. Solid Oak? It must be a bit more than "quite heavy."

I like seeing people think outside of the box.

Damn, wish my telecaster was oak...

...could swing it around like a sledge hammer...

...dent walls...

...chip pavement...

Did you make it yourself?

I had it custom made by a british company that makes decals. They had in their database the original spaghetti logo and they modified that.
The company I found right here, someone posted a thread about decals a year ago.

It really is VERY heavy, but it balances nicely on your shoulder. I would estimate the weight around 10-12 kilograms. But it is only an estimate. I haven't weighed it.

No, sadly I am not that adept at instrument building. It was made by a friend of a friend. And the neck is made by him too, so no wooden parts are from a factory.

the weight

This just in...

I weighed the arnocaster.
It weighs 10.8 kilograms... Ouch.

Honestly did not think it would weigh that much.

Nice tele, I really like heavy guitars. I have one tele that weighs in at 12 lbs and the sustain is sweet. It's ash though. My old Peavey T-15 is solid oak and only weighs 11lbs. I'd like to find or build a tele that is similar in weight to an LP. The heavier the better...though many dis-agree.

Televiking.............. my friend ................... I don't think you're that adept at weighing instruments. I wonder if you're using a lbs scale and reading it as kgs.

Well, since my own weight appears to be 65 kgs and the guitar 11 kgs I guess the weighing is at least consistent...

But anyway, I know it is unbelievable heavy for a guitar.

Looks like an old guitar and there are some nice vintage vibes coming from it just by looking at the photos...the weight is a bummer but it's a sweet guitar anyways...
