Barden made Gatton...for real?
Anybody know anything about
The listing is lacking detail for such a high priced guitar but, like I said, I'm not a prospect. Enjoy!

For about the last eighteen months on his website before business finished there was a mention about 'Joe Barden Guitars coming soon',but nothing ever came of it.So I guess it is legit.I may be wrong but I thought they were going to be constructed in the far east and not the US.
Odd choice of pickguard and string tree for a Gatton inspired guitar.I think Fender may have had a problem with his headstock design

I'm guessing that it might be a made-for-sale-in-Japan kinda guitar, based on the headstock...
Cheers, Tim

Are these guitar actually for sale right now? What's the scoop? Have you played one? Does Joe Barden actually have anything to do with them at this point? Enquiring minds want to know!!

I heard about these a couple years ago. They were to be made in Japan for the Japanese market. They are pretty guitars. I wonder if any TDPRI brothers have grey-marketed any to the USA?
I did a currency exchange on the listed price and they seem to cost the equivalent of 2.5K USD... Nice!

But would I be correct in assuming that they couldn't possibly have Barden pickups any longer? Or did they never have them? What makes them worth $2.5K?

I haven`t seen any in this city. They are being sold now but not sure if they are still being imported...they are made with USACG bodies and necks. Why 2.5K ?...because folks here will pay that much. Somebody else here is importing Warmoth necks and bodies, putting them together and selling them for $3000.oo...I`ve seen them.
I remember when Joe came over for the launch of his line and posted about it here.

barden's guitar
I purchased this directly from joe before he left his shop. He had it a couple of years and was showing it at NAMM as a protoype for a line that never happened. It is not the so called Japanese made items as you can see from headstock. It also had several joe aspects that made it special ie-nut, bridge, weight, nitro produced gold color, location of the knobs for rolling off and on easier.
It really is special and different. |

barden's guitar
THIS IS NOT THE JAPANESE QUICK ASSEMBLED GUITAR. EVEN THOUGH THE PICTURE WAS PUT IN THE WEB PAGE THIS HAS SPECIAL SPECS THAT ARE NOT LIKE THE JAPANESE ASSEBLED PIECES. THIS WAS GOING TO BE AN AMERICAN LINE. THE JAPANESE LINE DOESN'T EVEN HAVE JOE MAKE THE PICK-UPS. VERY DIFFERENT.
