Polyu over Reranch nitrocellulose lacquer?
Just curious.....
I will be beginning a new project with a Poplar Tele body and have ordered from the Reranch: Spray sand and sealer, White Primer, Shell Pink lacquer, and Gloss clear coat. I wondered how a spray-on and wipe-on Minwax polyu would work instead of the nitro clearcoat. Any experience with this here?

It just happens that I am doing a similar thing right now. Normally I would have used Krylon but my black Krylon cans were nearly empty and I had a can of ReRanch black. I sprayed the ReRanch black over Deft sander/sealer. I've sprayed a couple of coats of MinWax gloss poly over the ReRanch black after letting the ReRanch set for a day. No problems so far.
The spray poly drys much slower than lacquer. Nothing drys as fast as lacquer.

I've done it on two amp cabinets
I used wipe-on poly over Reranch on two amp cabinets. Went on like a charm and, although it's been less than a year for either one, there is no sign at all of any bad reaction to the mix. I should note, though, that the Butterscotch from Reranch is dye only with no lacquer in the mix.

http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...etic/Tele2.jpg My goal was shell pink with a clear coat but it seems all I read about is long drying time, sanding, sand throughs, etc.... I could spray on a couple of sealer coats and then wipe on, or maybe just use the spray and sand a little with some 1500 or 2000 grit. How would swirl remover work on polyu?
