Sticky issue........
Were sticky necks an issue with the old "Blackguards"
when they were new ? I actually can't imagine Jimmy Bryant, Roy Watkins or Arthur Smith saying : "S..., I hate the sticky neck on this new guitar !" But as long as they used a nitro finish, I guess it could have happened ? Or were the finishes so thin it really was no issue at all ? Somebody knows ? Ole FUZZY, Nacho maybe ? :? |

Don't remember any of my old guitars feeling sticky....
Had at one time:
52 Tele 62 Custom Tele 62 Strat 68 Tele None of them felt sticky in the way that new guitars can. Also had: 72 Thinline....don't remember how it felt???? app. 74 brown Strat with blackguard & maple neck....don't remember it as being a good guitar that one could bond with. Sticky neck! Craig app. 82 Strat, red metallic body with push switches of some sort.......don't remember the model......Sticky maple neck, Remember using steel wool on it. Wasn't very smart of me! |
