Went to see the Horse Cave Trio at the Northfield Roadhouse in Whitmore Lake, MI last night.
Good high energy band, Lou plays two "Tele"s. One of 'em being a G&L with those narrow soapbar-ish looking pups. Sounded real good'n'tele-ish.
They had our own Rockin'Carl up to take over on axe for a couple of songs. Man-o-shevitz! Great job Carl! Loved the faux pedal steel bends. Carl shouldn't have been in the bar givin' his tender young (and I mean young) age. Chaperones/parents..aka..RockinStan and RockinEvelyn looked on with awe and admiration (as did Lou and the rest of us)
Would've bought him some shots, but I guess that'll have to wait a while.
Carl, I'll have to consult with you on the finer points of playing Harlem Nocturne sometime. I'll try to get through it on a beginner's level myself. I like both Gatton's and Campilongo's take on he song
The Roadhouse will be presenting Mike Morgan & The Crawl this Thurs.
so back I go. Good thing I'm close enough to crawl home from there
