Hello

Hi,

I was turned on to this site from a friend at another general guitar forum. Haven't read much yet, but figured I would join up before becoming a lurker.

Here are my teles.

Starting in the foreground

Vintage White 2004 American Series Telecaster stock except for pickguard.

Natural MIM "FSR" Telecaster converted to an Esquire with an SD "Broadcaster" pup and vintage esquire wiring scheme, 3 saddle brass compensated bridge w/ashtray, Fender vintage style tuners and Bakelite 5 hole guard.

Olympic white MIM "60's Classic" with Seymour Duncan Antiquity pups.

And, my Christmas present to myself '93 Natural ash MIJ " Albert Collins" style telecaster that I hope to find out a little bit more about on this forum.

Welcome, Bones

with a collection like that I'm wondering where you ben all along .

This is a great place, the best of people, and a love of Telecasters keeps it all together (along with Chris & Paul).

Well, like others before me, I got sidetracked by flamed tops, custom wound "PAF" clones and long neck tenons, figuring bigger, more expensive and fancier was naturally better. Last year I rediscovered my first love and began heading back to the future. The implied simplicty of the telecaster really apeals to me and compliments my playing style.

Also I have always been a huge fan of Albert Collins and have been on the look out for a used american one at a fair price (can't justify the cost of a new one) for a long long time to no avail, my patience was finally rewarded on christmas night when I "won" the japanese equivilent on E-Bay for a very affordable price, so i guess I am on the right path afterall. It is just an awesome guitar.

I also like working on guitars and have a little shop set-up down the basement.

Hi Bones

Welcome from the UK!

Nice set of guitars - are you a working musician, or is it just a hobby?

Just a hobby. I'm starting to get much better at working on them than actually making music with them and I enjoy both immensely. I used to go to local jams up until a few years ago, but got tired of all the wanking and lack of genuine comradery.
