vintage reissue neck on an am. std. body?
Hey guys, it's been a long time since I've posted here and an even longer time since I've picked up my Telecaster :( . I haven't put down my Jaguar in about 2 years now...however, I still miss my Telecaster and want to make it playable again.
I have a 97 Am. Std with a custom made Warmoth neck with the boat profile and medium jumbo frets. It feels ridicoulus now after playing the 7.25 Jaguar with the vintage frets. So I want to get a vintage reissue neck for it, and I see they go really cheap on Ebay. But the Am. Std has the extra fret, and the newer style bridge. Will I be able to get the vintage style neck to intonate with this configuration? I do know the scale lengths are atleast the same. Or sdo I need to go shopping for an American Standard neck? Thanks, Bill www.reluctantaquanauts.com |

Not a problem.
The neck heel dimensions and mounting holes are exactly the same. That 22nd fret is just an overhang- a little shelf sticking out over the end. Intonation probably won't even have to be fooled with, or maybe just tweaked *slightly* in the worst case... -Michael Charter Member S. Texas He-Man Emoticon Haters Local #316
