Warmoth Bridges
I've been looking at vintage bridges all over the net to spice up my MIM Tele, and am wondering what the quality is of the Warmoth bridge. It is fairly inexpensive from the looks of it, and I wonder if it's cheaper because it's really cheap! If you guys know of any other places for bridges, feel free to suggest, and Happy Holidays

you have tons of options other than the warmoth. Allparts sells a vintage plate and staggered compensated saddles. they also sell the cheaper wilkinson with compensated saddles. but if it were me on a budget..id go ebay for a vinatge fender plate in the 10$to15$ range and then take advantage of Glendales sale and get his saddles at 40$. another option..there is a seller on ebay..GiantGuitars..that makes his own compensated saddles on a modified fender plate in the 40ish range.
hope this helps rand

I haven't tried the Warmoth plates. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one if the application called for a top loader (it's dual-loader, top and string-through), straight steel 3-barrel grooved saddles, and budget and time limited me to that price.
But I second the vote for a Fender vintage style plate, you can get one from MF for $7.99. And you can get your choice of saddles from many places at different price points. I advertised in the TDPRI Garage sale recently for some straight steel saddles, had several offers and found a couple nice pairs in trade for some other saddles I no longer wanted. |

cool cool
I ended up getting the Fender plate from Musicians friend. It's backordered til the end of the month, but thats all right, I just put on new strings and don't feel like changing them quite yet. I sprung for some Callahan saddles, from this site http://www.acmeguitarworks.com/Tele-...d-P674C98.aspx
and i also got the ashtray cover, also from musicians friend. When I get all this together, I will try and post a picture or 13. Thanks for the input guys, you are always a big help

I used a Warmoth bridge on the Esquire I recently built. I used it because it has no engraving on it. It's a combination type 3-saddle bridge in that it can be used as a toploader or a string through. The saddles are steel. I would consider it good quality. It's nicely chromed and actually looks like better quality than Fender bridge plates I have. When I started to install the pickup in the bridge plate, the screws wouldn't go through the holes........ probably due to the heavy chrome plating. I had to drill the holes a little larger.
