Fender country codes?
Is there a web site that will list the Fender country codes so you can tell where a guitar is manufactured? I'm interested in a guitar that has 034 as the first number.
I'm guessing this is Fender Korea.....

As far as I know the numbers don't tell you where the guitar was made, the letter that usually precedes the serial no. tells you its country of origin, though if it's a O rather than a 0 and is followed by 6 digits it will be a 94-95 Japanese Fender.
EDIT: Ignore me read Yegbert's post. |

sjfoote is talking about the model numbers, not the serial numbers, which do seem to indicate country of manufacture. You can sometimes use google or similar and do a brute force search for a reference on this and usually end up on one of the other discussion forums like FDP or FIB, but in the relevant articles I've found there the lists are dated and inaccurate, and don't have 34.
You can extrapolate some of this from info in the Fender Frontline. The Squier Master Series are the ones that begin with 034, so if you can figure out where they are made that might get you there. What would be useful is for one of us here to research this and come up with a current list and then post it here somewhere. Better yet, this is info that would be ideal in a Tele FAQ, unfortunately we don't seem to have the basis to support maintaining FAQs or other static documents easily. But enough of that general concern, lest we hijack sjfoote's thread here just trying to figure out 034. So where are Squier Master Series made? |

011 USA 013 MIM 025 MIJ 026 MIK 027 MIJ 034 seems to be assigned to a chambered Tele and a Thinline Tele the other 034's are Squires probably MIC or MII.

Mark Davis is correct
the 2 guitars I was talking about are the Squier Chambered Tele, and the Squier Esprit. Both have 034-xxxx model numbers.
I've never seen one locally to check out the country of origin....
