Fender Staggered Tuning Machines

I have a hwy 1 tele and have been thinking about changing out the tuning machines. I’m interested in the Fender staggered tuners. I guess they put them on the American Series guitars? Has anyone here tried these and if so, what do you think?

I have them in my Lite Ash tele, like them a lot. Because they are staggered they give the peghead a real clean look, plus I'm not busting the 1,2 or 3rd string anymore.

Do you mean the locking tuners? I have them on my AmDlx Strat. They work well, make string changes the easiest of all my guitars, and are a good match with a trem equipped guitar. But for a tele, I have a little bit of a superstitous mojo thing about the lightweight Klusons being part of the sound.

Gotoh makes a staggered non-locking Kluson style tuner. I have them stock on my EJ Strat and just ordered some for my 62RI Strat. I'm not putting them on my 62RI Tele because I don't think there's any advantage if you aren't using a trem.

I believe they're staggered (lower)

on the tuners furthest away from the nut to increase the break-angle from the nut. On my MIA the E and A are taller than the D, G, B and E. I also have a string tree for the B and E strings to increase that angle further on those last two strings.
