Just what is this Tele????
I'm having a REAL problem tring to figure out just what Tele I have here???
It's a blue Floral Telecaster that I bought used in "I think" the middle 1980's from Dave's guitar shop in LaCrosse Wis. It can't be a newer reissue because it's too old, but it has a sticker by the neck/body that says "Made in Japan" SOO it can't be a 68/69 can it?? On the neck is stamped TL69-75 and the same TL69-75 is stamped on the body. I just can't find numbers like that anywhere!!! It's just a GREAT sounding guitar but I have no idea what it is, can anyone help me out?? thanks |

it`s a replica of the 1969 model, originally sold for 75,000. Everything I`ve read points to a March of 1982 as the start up date for Fender Japan production. Of all the 80s FJs I own only one does not have a pencil date on the neck butt. Does your have a JV serial number on the neck plate? Or any other serial number on the neck below the MIJ sticker? Or the number could be on the front or back of the headstock.

Fender pat. pend A035628 I know about the original Floral Teles made in 68/69 and the reissues done in the 2000's. Was there ALSO floral tele reissues done in Japan in the 1980's also???? I've never heard of that! Is this one of those?? and why does there seem to be no info on the TL69-75 stamped neck and body numbers?? This is all very interesting... Thanks a bunch you guys!! Rock on!!! :D |
