MIJ/CIJ Photo Flame rosewood necks

Does anyone have any experience with these? I've heard the radius is flatter than MIJ 62 RI, maybe 9.5". Any creedence to that? thanks1

Can't remember where I heard this but I seem to recall that the MIJ Foto-Flame guitars are prone to finish checking. For this reason, I've steered away from them. I've also stayed away because .......... it's just a picture of nice wood.

Not sure about the necks, but I do have a CIJ foto-flame body for my partscaster. I can confirm the finish does check big time. I've never seen one that isn't checked out the wazoo. I got mine super cheap on ebay ($40!) and it looks 50 years old (which I think is kinda cool). Nice alder grain on the back though.

thanks y'all

curious though I've played some japanese nashville style teles with flatter boards and thicker necks than my '86 Esquire (62) reissue. i'm building a guitar off a MIJ mahogany thinline body which may become a fantasy esquire with one original seth lover fender humbucker in the bridge position to satisfy my 335/tele/junior tastes. I'd like to find a slab board neck to suit it but would prefer to stay fender.
