Filtertron Tele painting is done. Pics of the process.

Hey all. I just finished my first paintjob and because I'm a dork who wants to have internet friends... I've put the pics on a little site for anyone who wants to see it from start to finish. Sorry if it's a slow download for those with dialup. Lots of photos on there. Thanks and let me know how bad it looks...

Awww Mikey - we are ALL your friends here at the TDPRI! :D

I've checked out the pics; 2 questions.... (a.) how did you come to drop the body on the floor and cause all that damage? and (b.) what's a 'greehouse'? (first pic)....

Nice job so far - but don't accept 'nearly good enough' just 'cos you're p*ssed off with sanding. Make it a labour of love to get a perfect finish - you'll be so glad you did!

Okay, the "greehouse" is now a "greenhouse"!

We have a little shabby greenhouse in our backyard. I just covered the inside with plastic and went to work.

Because I did all the painting outside in the greenhouse I had to carry the guitar across our backyard every time I brought it in to dry. On one of those trips (after being almost done) I simply lost hold and dropped it right on the cement walkway. Tragic!

I've been polishing like crazy and it's looking like a real guitar now. :D

I did the same with a Squier body once, painting it in the back yard. Cracked the portion where the neck bolts on. Gotta love those clumsy fingers!
