Cropper, Ford, 61 Tele Project Finished....pic...
Y'all might remember the very long Robben Ford tele post that was up here a couple of months ago...well, though no conclusion was made, here is my project that came out of that. It is a tribute of sorts to some of my heros, Cropper, Ford, and think it turned out quite well....

Unbelievable! Where did you find the parts for it...particularly the neck and body?

In answer to a couple of questions...the parts...
1. USA Custom Guitar body and neck 2. Glendale Bridge (non era correct saddles) but my ears like brass saddles...what can I say???? 3. Other hardware, control plate, knobs, string ferrules, etc...is Callaham hardware The guitar has some detailed aging work that the pic doesn't reflect...will post more pics soon... |

In answer to a few more questions...
Body wood??? I ended up going with alder, because with rosewood necks it's what I prefer. Slabboard neck??? I'm afraid not....that would be sweet though!! Cost??? I'm almost afraid to answer that, after all the parts, and finishing...it came in at about $1500....not bad for it being EXACTLY the way I want it |

Sweet guitar! I love the blond/RW combo. I have a Custom Shop '61 Tele NOS (order made). Thick slab rw board, white blond swamp ash body. Now has a Callaham bridge with steel saddles and TBear TVH pickups. They are made in Sweden. Lots of mids for that FAT Robben tone.
