The guy is probably on a fishing expedition to see what he can get, and will end the auction before the scheduled end (assuming it doesn't get to $25k! Not likely!).
I'm always amused how these vintage guitars seem to end up in the hands of guys who claim "I am not an expert." Makes it easy to wiggle out of "mistakes" in the listing. :) |

Typo.. but it seems $2500 is about right for that guitar the way the market is now if it is all original. That case isn't original though is it?

His starting bid is about twice what I think it's worth. I mean, just because it's a few years old how does that warrant a big price tag? Does it have some kind of historical significance in the world of guitars? I'd just as soon spend a lot less on one of the "made in Mexico" teles & be happy.

25K of course is too much; $2500 is too much. It's two pieces of wood screwed together with some wires and stuff screwed to it. Please.
Every time I see this kind of ad I hear a faint whirring sound. I believe that must be Leo Fender, spinning in his grave. He designed his instruments to be affordable - cheap, even - and this kind of elitist horsepuckey is completely antithetical to that vision. Respectfully. 8)

well actually.....
I don't think it's too much for a seventies tele....The only problem is that he's not letting his auction run long enough....say if it was thru about Oct .2095 I'm sure that the bidding would go that high!!!!!

Well that tickled old Fatman!

BTW.... here in the UK, we are currently enjoying the spectacle of the opposition Conservative Party trying to elect a new leader. Erm, Dr. T - I don't suppose you would consider...... nah, probably not. Nice idea, though!

Besides, my heritage is conclusively, unapologetically Scottish (the Sutherland District). My own forebears would spin in their graves were I to get embroiled in British politics.
