Ishibashi Music

I am toying with the idea of purchasing a guitar from Ishibashi. I have never dealt with them before or purchased a guitar out of the country before. I suspect that there are a number of members who have done this so can I ask some questions ? Do I need to purchase a case to have the guitar shipped in or is it safe to buy without one ? Do you have any suggestions ? Good people to deal with ? Horror stories ?

Thanks !

You'll find a lot of people here with extremely positive experiences with them (myself included). Most guitars come with a gig bag, and then are well boxed up in the gig bag, so purchasing a hard case is not necessary.

Ditto - same goes for me. You will NOT be disappointed.

Make that three. I've ordered from Ishibashi numerous times. Without question, Ishibashi's customer service is practically the best I've ever had, foreign or domestic. The online international salespeople are incredibly friendly and helpful, and the whole ordering process is really simple. If the guitar you want is in stock (and it usually is), you'll probably get it within three or four days--if not sooner!

Ishibashi Discussion Page???

Is it me, or has this started to become the Ishibashi Discussion Page? :)

There are 3 topics on the first page alone.
I think we all could make better use of the search function here (myself included).

Peace.

Good point, Andy!

I think in this instance Old Guy could be forgiven - not everybody understands (or uses properly) the search function - me included! Give him a break - he's just wanting to buy a Telecaster after all, and this IS the Telecaster Discussion Page! He could have referred to Vintage & Rare in London, and nobody would have batted an eyelid.

But you're right - and now that genelovesjez, Joel and myself have given Ishibashi the "big up", I'm sure Old Guy will now have the confidence to buy.

Thanks to everyone for the help. You are indeed correct about the search function, I never think about it. Next time . . .

you need to contact Koichi, a he..... or Noriko, a she. There may now be others working in the international dept. but they seem to be the folks I always hear from. I have bought quite a bit from them and find them to be among the best folks to deal with on the net...at least they answer my mails...many here in Japan just don`t. Some shops don`t want to deal with foreigners and have told me so. But Ishibashi has always been a good experience for me.
