Yep, I was checking out that same article in the reading room in my London flat, and thought there's another book I should get.

I love the british guitar mags! They must hire ex-Playboy magazine photographers to do their pictures, they make the guitars look sooooo good. ("Miss Esquire 2005 loves going to concerts and playing out til all hours. She particularly enjoys country music...")

The photography in Guitarist is exemplery. It's such a great magazine, ever greater when your guitar obsessed uncle gives you his monthly issue after he's read it! Sod getting a subsciption!

A few years back, I think it was the "Transmitter" album, he had something like ten Esquires made up by the custom shop for the tour. I think they were all black and silver. One of them had "THINK BUCK OWENS" inscribed on the fretboard in MOP. They looked like expensive versions of the anodyne models.

Billy's Hat

I read something in a Guitar World some years ago about Billy's hat. He got it from an African guy (not sure if it was a musician, ambassador, or what) but Billy thought it was just the coolest hat ever and was honored that the guy gave it to him. I don't think I've seen a pic of him without it in the past five years or so.

And oh yeah... nice guitars too.
