Goodbye nice little Squier 51
Last Friday I decided to slim my collection down and to get rid of all guitars I never really bonded with. Unfortunately, that also included my blonde Squier 51.
I don't know what was it that kept me from starting a relationship with that guitar, could have been the thin body (I'm used to the fat bodies of my strats and my Les Paul Custom), could've been the switching system (Impossible to quickly change pickups during a song), could've been that matte finish neck (I simple love the way a gloss neck feels) could've been all of those but it certainly wasn't the sound. I loved the way it sounded, twang by the ton while I could also make it wail and shred on it. But I had to face the fact that that nice little 51 was collecting dust and that my 1989 Strat and my 1986 Ibanez Roadstar were my primary double cutaway axes and that it would be a waste to keep that guitar which basically was as new and never ending up playing it. I don't regret buying it but it simply wasn't the guitar for me.

I love my '51 squier. It's got Muy Grandes, a new allparts neck (rosewood finger board w/ a super satin finish!),bone nut, gotoh tuners and the best part about it....it was a gift from my uncle!
