Has anyone played one of these? Are they similar to the 52 ri model at all? Specifically, do they have the same heavy poly finish, on the necks... I tried the search function but couldnt find specific info after a dozen pages or so...thanks in advance, cycler

They dont seem to put as much finish on the rosewood necks as they do all maple.

The 62ri's I have played didnt have that thick finish at all.

The '62 has more of a slim profile C neck.

they are 2 different animals. thick finish/neck[52] vs. thin finish/neck[62]. the pups are different. ........but they both SMOKE, imo. My 62 is a teal green color. it also has the doublebound body. Very very sweet.

The 62RI has the 7.25" radius fretboard. The post 98 MIA ones have a neck profile in between a U and a C. Nitro finish, not poly (though the body has a poly sealing coat).

What are the pickups like in the '62, how do they sound and respond?

Anyone measured their DC resistance?

The neck pickup is the same with the 52 and the 62.

The 62 bridge pickup has staggered bevelled polepieces and isn't as midrange heavy as the 52 bridge pickup. It has a little bit less output and a different string-to-string response (the G string wants to jump out at you). The 62 is a bit more polite.

The difference isn't huge.

But the steel saddles make the slight differences more apparent.
