Neck stamp - help needed

Just taken the neck off my '73 tele for the first time in over 20 years.

I bought this guitar new in Oct '73 with serial no 403322 so that ties in OK - body has "no notch"

Neck has a stamp in blue / green ink 13 01 38 13

Following the detail I have, this would line up to 13 = Tele, 01 = rosewood fingerboard, 38 = week, 1 = '71, and 3 = day 3.

Problem I have is this I thought only ran from 1972, while this would seem to indicate '71. These numbers don't seem to line up with the 69 to 71 codes.

This number is stamped on the butt as normal, with the name Herb G stamped on the back of the neck. Nothing inside neck pocket on body.

Anyone out there shed any light on this ??
