Not sure if you are serious or not, but the hole in the headstock is not from a bullet. If that is something some people believe, it is obviously myth. That headstock would look nothing like that if struck by any type of bullet. That hole was drilled.

Yo
Hey Mr Buck Cannon
That is really amazing to see those pictures, well done getting a turn on Nancy, I, like you think its sad to keep such a guitar locked up in a glass cage and just a small part of a collection when in theory a guitar like that should not be a piece in a collection but at the very front of the soul of one player, just like Roy did with her. I guess though we all have to retire one day, such a shame. Id love to know what Mac Yusada paid to get his hands on that guitar, such a treasure. Also get a link whacked on your website to this beautiful forum, I couldnt spot one... ;) Keep the flame alive.

hey Buck dont know if I told you this story but someone I know spent sometime with Roy in round 1980 and he was not really satisfied with that guitar anymore, yet to the point to not use it on stage that very night and borrow my friends tele (a great 52) instead...I think my friend couldve trade guitars with him that very same day, but he didnt, oh well!
Lately I have been seeing an ACL video by him I think from 1977 and he really burns during that gig. When he is done, he just leaves the guitar leaning the drum set and walks away with that calm cool attitude... |

Thanks for providing those pictures, Don! That guitar is just awesome. I can imagine just a little bit what you are feeling for this guitar because I kinda feel the same for a certain heavily modified Esquire...
![]() I know many people here will frown upon this, but for me there is nothing like a beat up old Tele or Esquire... ;) |

Thanks for the pics
Nice pics, Buck. I've got some new computer wallpaper now.

aden...
yasuda got it for a relative bargain price given it's historical significance as both a legendary player's instrument and an early fender... i believe he paid just a little over 10K... this must have been around 1989/1990 or so... tj
( yes yasuda... by the way don i've talked to several guys in LA who have played nancy throughout the years when it was in storage with one part of yasuda's collection... so yasuda seems to be cool that way... from what i've heard about him is that he's strictly a collector... ) |

Wow
I had seen the former pics of Nancy, but assumed she was over-seas never to return. It must have been a spiritual experince for you to hold and play such an icon.
Roy's DNA is still on that thang! thanks for sharing!
