The Tele Shape
I just walked into my den to the usual welcoming sight of one of my Teles in its stand, and I was struck by the brilliance of the shape of the Tele body that Leo came up with so many years ago. An icon! It surely looks like a guitar - some might say because we are used to seeing it that way - because many of its lines are drawn from the classics that precede it. But there is a style that set it apart from the others. Where did that upper bout come from? Who would have thought to flatten out the heel? Other body styles pale in comparison. Is there any record of how Leo came up with the shape? What do you think of the style?
