Indentify/Value this Tele please
Hi All
A friend of mine died and his widow wants to sell his Tele. Now I am a simple bass player and so I have no idea what the real model name for this Tele is or how much it is worth (in the UK). I suspect you guys are just about the best people to ask. No pictures, I'm afraid, but here's the description. 1986 serial number, black with black headstock and hardware (I think - it's not here). Made in Japan, locking trem&nut, 3 pickups, 2 single pole and one humbucker. 2 knobs and 3 micro switches. Any ideas? Thanks in advance Si the Bass

Probably a contemporary tele... and the values on those range from $175 or so up to $300... I've seen people ask for more, but I haven't really seen 'em sellin...
I had one in mint condition that sold for $250 and I was glad to get it... |

Sounds to me like a tele deluxe, made in the mid-eighties in Japan. Ole Fuzzy has one I think, I saw him with one in a picture once, he could give you the total lowdown on it. Nice guitar, but not worth a whole lot I'm thinkin.

Thanks!
Spot on chaps!
It is indeed a 1986 Contemporary Tele as depicted in the pictures. Thanks for the valuation esitimate as well. I am sure a direct translation into pounds for those values would be appropriate. Incidentally there was a TV show on in the UK last night about a band getting some help from a performance coach (or group dynamics coach as it turned out) and the guitarist has this very model of Tele .. Synchronicity! Si
