MIM Cabronita volume help

Hi, I'm hoping for some help with what may be a rather daft question.
On my new MIM Cabronita there is a noticeable drop in volume when I switch from either the bridge or neck pick ups to the combined position. Middle still sounds good, just quieter.
Is this normal? On my other teles I haven't noticed this drop.

I believe it's normal. There may be wired out of phase, intentionally, to give you that, well, out-of-phase tone. So there may be some phase cancelling going on there.

There shouldn't be a noticable volume drop, probably a wiring problem, I'd get it checked out.

This. Stock mine kept the volume when going to the middle. With TV Jones pups and upgraded wiring no drop off either.

How noticeable is noticeable? 5%? 50%?

I 'notice' the volume drop between the 1,3,5 and 2,4 positions on my strat.. but that is normal and might be around 5%
