In A Pawn Store . . .

Thinking about picking it up, but . . .???

Did any "Fender Telecaster" come with a jack that has a square plastic piece (like a Les Paul has), maybe an inch by an inch in size, surrounding the jack???

Just curious . . .

I remember seeing older MIJ re-issues with such a jack plate. Think it was a '54 MIJ re-issue, it had a chrome square jack plate.
But also the plastic ones I've seen - but do not know which model.

Back in the day I've fixed 'em like that, especially when the cup wouldn't stay.

I've always prefered right angle plugs as they cause less jack fatigue, but the cup jack won't work with one. I've considered using the LP style on partscasters. I know it's heresy.

Billy - is that for the chrome square jack plate or plastic one? I could be mistaken for the plastic one but the chrome square is used by fender - found this one on ebay:

Description: Official Fender '72 Reissue Custom Telecaster Chrome Input Jack & Plate- Fender '72 Reissue Telecaster - Genuine Fender

Ebay LINK which was TOO LONG 'magically' shortened somehow...
