Oh my...
That guitar looks like it was played at Chernobyl. Or maybe Love Canal?

Not a pretty site....
....to me personally. But one thing I do like about (some) Parkers, is the way they do their necks. The frets are stainless steel (I think), and do NOT wear out. Why don't ALL guitars have this??
Also, I think the ones with the carbon fiber (or whatever it is) necks are virtually immune to warpage, at least that's what I've been told. The other guitarist in my band gigged regularly with a Parker Fly for 7 or 8 years, and there was NO fretwear. He did say it was hard on strings though; in my opinion, a fair trade-off. -Eric

It's based on the shape of all Parkers so I don't have a problem with the body. I think the body color and grain are pretty good, and the neck color may be ok, but that neck looks awful with that body. Give me some black fretboard dots too! The headstock again is Parkers, and actually is kind of cool for behind the neck bends. The third knob is volume for the piezo pickups in the bridge saddle, which might be a cool feature, but keeps you from installing the correct three brass saddles.
I played one of these at NAMM and they actually are pretty comfortable guitars. I didn't get to plug it in, though. John |

That guitar ain't got no spots!
In the words of Big Jule:
"I had the spots removed, for luck." (I don't think it worked)

I picked up a Parker back in January . . . I've played my Teles (I have four of them) only three times since.
The Parker plays better, faster, easier, and it is not hard on the strings, and it sounds wonderful - pull the coil taps, and I can duplicate the sound of a Tele with ease. Full humbuckers with the coil taps pushed back in. Rock, country, jazz, metal all in one guitar - no pedals - although I do use them! Tele necks feel very thick, slow, and cumbersome to me now, although I know many who like that feel. Don't get me wrong . . . I love my Teles, but I also love the Parker. My playing has drastically improved since I began practicing on it . . . although nearly 8 months of playing my Teles would have netted the same improvement - maybe? A locally famous guitar player who owns a Custom Shop Tele couldn't put the Parker down after the asked if he could try it out one afternoon. Two hours later, he handed it back, saying "I gotta get one of them." |
