This pinecaster is building itself...
First, I score a Fred Stuart Blackguard set on the Garage Sale. Then I win a nitro pine reliced body on ebay...
and now I've *just* won a reliced Allparts tele neck (Fat U shaped, prob a TMNF model) on Ebay Australia :D And all the while I wasn't actively looking for these things, they just happened to pop up while I was browsing. Honest! But you know how one thing leads to another... :) Perhaps this guitar was meant to be! Prob gonna get the rest of the hardware for GuitarParts Resource, their prices seem pretty good... I'm thinkin' a Wilkinson or Glendale compensated brass bridge, a no-load tone pot, bakelite blackguard...mmmm 8) Cheers, Trevor |

That's how mine came together.... I saw a neck that looked great, the next day the body I wanted...and within a week I had a new guitar.
Also- If those tuner holes have been drilled and you want to use vintage tuners you can get 'conversion bushings' that'll fit the smaller tuners in the bigger holes.. |

Its coming together... just ordered parts off eBay
I decided that the bridge will be Wilkinson's compensated brass. Not the adjustable angled version, but the ones with intonation grooves built into the actual saddle (like Graphtec IOS).
Got a no-load 250k tone pot for the extra top end zing ala esquire, two black bakelite guards - one for tele, the other for esquire 8) Got them adaptor bushings too, so I should be able to use Klusons. Even ordered some slotted screws for the early 50s look - I know it'll kind clash with the shiny Wilkinson bridge, but what the heck. Switchcraft jack and a CTS vol 250k pot... should make a decent guitar all up! :D Trev |

just a heads up on the conversion tuner bushings..
they are several sized bushings (different interior dim..)
you need to buy the tuner bushing that goes with your particular tuner set. you'll get the bushings in to find the hole is too small to insert the tuner thru.. |

Just so ya'll know if you missed it...
I posted the outcome a few months ago which was not a happy story at all - Paul pulled the thread before it opened another can of worms (fair nuff). In short, the deal fell thru. Seller turned to be a tdpri member that had been booted. Not a pleasant guy to deal with, somewhat pedantic, but I won't mention names
Got my money back tho, so I'm over it. 8) Plus, I've put together a great partscaster "stratesquire". Will post pics in another thread when I get the chance. Trev |
