Refinish or Buy?

I was planing on refinishing my saga tele in sunburst and making it into a parts tele, but I calculated it and it would cost me only slightly less than buying one, and if I bought one the wood would look better than my three piece tele, what would you suggest?

Having gone the SAGA route...

While SAGA kits/parts can produce a pretty decent/playable and not bad sounding guitar...

I bet a year from now you will happier if you look around and find the right "entry level" Telecaster. "Entry level" will of course depend upon many things that only you can decide upon. I think some the MiM Teles are pretty good values. The ones I have used have never let me down on stage

Besides...then you'll have TWO guitars. That's how true GAS begins.

well, what I mean by parts tele is that I'll only keep the body from the saga. You see, I had it all put together and painted and I was playing it but the paint was really crappy so I decided that I wanted to refinish it and now I've already got a lot of the sealer off.
