Alan Jackson's Guitar Player's Tele

I've been wondering this a while - does anyone have any details on his guitar? (I can't find his name - from his live band)

It almost looks like a butterscotch with a rosewood board, but when you see it closer, it looks like steel saddles, an an 8-screw BWB pickguard. The body almost looks like a badly yellowed late-60's blonde.

Anyway, sounds great. The guy always plays great too.

I think his name is Danny Groah(sorry if I misspelled it).

It looks like a 60's Tele to me....

He may belong to the same modeling agency as Redd and Terry D.

Is that Redd's little brother?

I heard him on the Grand Old Opry this past weekend and his tone was killer. Great player--although he IS playing Brent's licks, which can't be easy especially without a B-Bender.

I saw AJack last night on the CMA thing and I swear there were THREE other dudes playing acrue-sticks behind him! And he was strummin' one too!

Re: Is that Redd's little brother?

Thanks! Looks like a 60's to me as well. Before seeing GOOL and the CMA thing, I had never seen it up close and always assumed it was a butterscotch. Never seen a blond that yellowed.

I've seen Alan live 3x and he pretty much plays right off the albums. Still pretty good, in my book.

Oh yeah! I saw that guy on the grand Ole Opry last night, he was playing with a slide. Alan was playing an acoustic, it looked like a fretless to me.
