But I already have way too many guitars right now (not that I could afford $1,100 anyways). Something tells me that these semi-rare CIJ models blow away the MIM RI. The coloration of the maple neck is much deeper & nicer, IMO, and I already know how sweet these CIJ's play & sound.......

Why does this thing have a Stratocaster headstock, yet no mention of that fact is made in the description? Is this normal?

Yes, that's quite normal on the headstock. I own one of the reissue ones. It's swwweeett. I like the headstock that way personally.
