How to Measure Neck Radius?
Thanks to this site, I know the differences in neck radiuses. Now I would be interested to find out what my guitar necks radius' are.....How do I go about measuring this at home

The easiest and cheapest way to do it is to get a piece of thin cardboard/thick paper and make some guages. Tie a string onto a pencil and draw a few arcs beside each other. One with the string held at 7.25", another at 9.5" and another at 12" (the most common radiuses). Cut along the arcs and then cut them out so you have like 3 credit card size pieces with an arc making up one side of each card.
Then you just see which one fits the curve of your fretboard. If none fit you'll be able to estimate from them. |
