Redd's latest thang...
'Speedin West'...
w/ Cindy Cashdollar on lapsteel/dobro, Elana Fremerman on Fiddle, Jake Erwin on upright bass, Redd w/ the telecaster... Thursdays at Threadgills North (Lamar), and probably other places around town for a while... Sounds like fun! |

I really want to see this band. I love Hot Club of Cowtown, w/ Jake and Elana. I love Cashdollar's work w/ the Wheel. And what else could be said about Redd.
Has anybody seen Whit and Jake's HCoT side project band called Whit Smith's Hot Jazz Caravan??? Also, has anybody heard when is the Heybale studio record is coming out???? |

Saxon Pub at eight tonight.
http://www.reddvolkaert.net/default.html It's the High-Flyers on Redd's and Cindy's websites, but Speedin' West in the Chron and elsewhere. Whichever, it's a great lineup. I tried to see'em at Threadgill's last week but it was more than a little crowded. Get there well before 7:30. donnie |

Cought Redd w/ Cindy (and the boys) at The Continental a couple of times. The first time Cindy was laying back a lot... maybe unsure of where Redd was taking things... the last time (about a month ago) they were tight as twin fiddles and they tore the roof off the place and left a big hole in the stage.... Yup, they were a joy to behold.
I love living in Austin. Can't wait to see this new Morf Redd's got cooking. It ain't lean on talent! Right on Redd.

You guys are lucky to be near Austin. I'm not that far away and I'm looking for the chance to get back there again soon.
I truly enjoyed meeting Cindy when we worked with Asleep at the Wheel. She is a sweetie. So is Redd, so I'm sure they are dynomite together.

And ditto on Cindy Cashdollar, I also met her several years ago when she was playing with Ray, definitely Good People. :-) I would dearly love to hear 'em... :-| CS
