George Lynch Tele on ebay!

Well, to tell the truth, I'm no George Lynch fan, but you might be. Got an extra 6K layin' around? Read the replies in the questions section. I emailed him this about his deusenberg comment :

Question from brutalblues
Item: 1968 VINTAGE FENDER TELECASTER ROCK STAR COLLECTABLE NR (7339119452)
This message was sent while the listing was active.
brutalblues is a potential buyer.

You aren't selling a Duesenberg, and the originality of the paint
and hardware is directly tied to the $$ value of the item you are
selling, as in: refinished=half value! So the question is valid.
Whether you want to bother to accomodate such a request is, of
course, up to you. The "rock star" appeal you are counting on
will only have value to someone who likes George Lynch, and is
generally worth about 10% more than one owned by Joe Schmoe.
Now if it was Keith Richard's guitar.....

He replied for me to go F myself !
Is this guy full of himself, or what?

That one's pictured in the new Vintage Guitar magazine article on George. Does that help its value?

There's no flat rate for "celebrity value", just depends on how big a fan you are.
Nice Tele, refin or not. Priced a little high IMO.

This guy calls himself The Emperor?...good grief! I guess he's trying to be witty with the godzilla stuff. Witty for a 14 year old maybe. It's a nice guitar, but the George Lynch thing ruins it because the guy thinks it's worth more for than it really is. Vintage guitars are already ridiculously priced. It's worth maybe as much as 3K, to me anyway.

VG said it was a '67

Is it the same guitar?

Or did VG have it's facts wrong?

Look closer

Bridge close-up = A##### on bridge.

Bridges of that era have no number.

It does look like the Tele in VG, but who has ever seen George Lynch play a Tele???

Exactly! If you are a Lynch fan, I would think you would want a guitar that you've seen him play a million times, and not some guitar that he's posing with in a picture. If you're just a Tele fan, you probably wouldn't want to spend that much for a Tele just because Lynch is holding it. That's just me though.

Hey Poke,
Very cool pics! They look like they were taken recently. Is that correct. I consider myself a Lynch fan but I haven't really kept up with what he's been up to. Hasn't he put out a bluesy album recently?

I lifted those pics from this thread at the gear page-more info there. They are cool pics! Usually he is playing something a little more, umm...-80's?

Not to mention that the saddles look like stainless steel. Was that available back then? The whole bridge and saddle assembly looks very new to me.

SN 250997 must be 1969; the bridge is '80 MIJ.
