is what makes a tele? is it the body the headstock or combo of both? I think its the body. nothing else is curved or shape quite like it.

Fender makes a TELECASTER all others make a Tele.

Shape of the body and headstock and hardware mounting make a TELECASTER and the variants allow the guitar tew be called a Tele.

If a Fender TELECASTER is modified beyond recognition it remains a TELECASTER by pedigree. If parts are added or replaced it remains a TELECASTER.

A Tele can never become a TELECASTER no matter the real parts added.

Leo Fender and the gang made it first and Fender carries it on even iffin they make the urgleeist TELECASTER ever made now or inna 70s and 80s.

Overall, the body shape makes it a Tele. The Fender company makes it a TELECASTER.
